Rockhill Drive Ramp to U.S. 1 South Now Open

Left turn lane from WB Rockhill Drive to U.S. 1 North ramp closed for three months

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the ramp from Rockhill Drive to southbound U.S. 1 in Bensalem Township was reopened at night on September 9, after two years of construction under PennDOT’s $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bucks County

Additionally, the left turn lane from westbound Rockhill Drive to the ramp to northbound U.S. 1 was closed on September 9, until approximately Sunday, September 15. Motorists will detour south on Old Lincoln Highway, east on Street Road (Route 132) to U.S. 1 North.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays may occur.

The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange. This project also will improve the U.S. 1 interchanges at Neshaminy, Penndel/Business 1, and Rockhill Drive. Additionally, the bridges over Rockhill Drive, the Neshaminy Creek, and Business U.S. 1/CSX/SEPTA will be replaced.
